For Administrators or grant staff, running a report by department to monitor the status of pending ECC tasks can be helpful. Below are the steps to run reports on effort and project reporting.

Access to Reporting in ECC
Back to TopStep 1. Log-In
Log into ECC by selecting UW at your institution
Step 2. Go to Reports
Your dashboard, including tasks awaiting your attention, will load. To see all effort and project reporting for your unit, select the Report tab and then the reporting button on the left hand side at the top (this second click is tricky)
Step 3. Run Query
Now you are ready to run your query
Effort Reporting
Back to TopStep 1. Select Report
Select Certification Status Report
Step 2. Select Status
Move the status items you want to monitor. Note: These are changing in real time so it is recommended to move all the status types (use the double >>) and then move back the ones which will not have an actionable item. The example shows the status items which are known to be ok to exclude.
Step 3. Select your Cost Center Hierarchy (CCH) or Cost Center (CC)
Select either your CCH or CC. Note: Only one Hierarchy or Cost Center may be selected at a time. Also, this field is slow to populate; patience!
Step 4. Select Roles
Select all available roles (use the double >>). If you are reviewing for a specific role, you can limit it with this filter
Step 5. Input Dates
Enter dates for the entire period using the MM/DD/YYYY format or selecting the dates using the calendar icon
Step 6. Run Report
Select Run Report on the bottom right-hand side of the screen. Note: If you receive an error in any of the fields, review all the fields prior to selecting ‘run report’ because some will default to blanks and they need to be repopulated in order for you to successfully receive your query. The School/Department is one of these fields that will blank if an error is created.
Step 7. Review or Export
Review result or export
Step 8. Review Certification Status
The query result shows each effort certification, and the current status for each. The results can be downloaded for additional analysis or use.
